Being the 19th freest economy in the world according to Heritage Foundation’s Index of Economic Freedom for 2008 Bahrain economy is in the list of top ones in Middle East.

What does it mean in reality? Actually, well-developed business freedom, fiscal freedom, financial freedom contribute to this factor. Anyway one should mention that weak labor still occurs in Bahrain. But there is no income tax for the sectors of the economy except for oil.

Analyzing the indicator of GDP in Bahrain $24.01 billion was observed in the year of 2007. Moreover, the country showed economic growth due to a rise in labor productivity. Naturally, 90% of GDP indicator should be estimated on the basis of industry and services.

Bahrain is a country with a well-developed system of exports and imports. For example, $10.93 billion imported goods and services were reported in 2007 in comparison with $13.79 billion exports.

In spite of the fact that inflation is not too high (2.8% for the years 2004-2006) there are still some features contributing to the weakness of Bahrain economy. Here we do define certain government regulations and the right to employ Bahrains only in particular and the difficulty to dismiss them afterwards.

However, this country has showed certain success in preventing itself from economic weakness other countries of the Middle East suffered. Due to Bahraing economy’s strong features it will be able to play a significant role in the economy of the world.
