In comparison with other countries of the Latin America and the Caribbean region Bolivia had a lower middle-income in 2005.

The total area of the country is 1.1 million square kilometers with 600.9 thousand square kilometers of a forest area.

The major economic indicators represent the GNI, Atlas method in Bolivia that of $86.6 billion having per capita level $960.0 in 2004. The GDP of the same year calculated $8.8 billions.

When talking about social indicators we do observe certain characteristics of the population. In particular, the total population was 9.0 million people in 2004 with 1.9% of annual growth rate.

In general, some social indicators have decreased within recent years. The infant mortality rate per one thousand, for example, represented number 54.0. Though the life expectancy was 64.5 years. According to the reports, there were 86% of people ages 15 and above.
