According to certain reports Croatia is a country with an upper middle-income. It has the total area of 56,540.0 square kilometers and a forest area 21,290.0 square kilometers.

The total population of Croatia hasn’t increased during the years of 2000 and 2004 and touched the number 4.4 million people. Life expectancy at birth was reduced from 73.8 to 75.4 years. Mortality rate though also had the reduction and represented the indicator 6.3 in comparison with 7.4. Mortality rate (under 5) was 7.8 in 2000 and 7.3 in 2004.

Economic indicators represent rapid industrialization and diversification in Croatia. Due to this the country observes $30.3 billion in 2004 in comparison with 2000 of GNI, Atlas method. GNI per capita was $4,500.0 in 2000 and $6,820.0 in 2004. The indicator GDP was expressed by $18.4 billion in 2000 and $34.3 billion in 2004. Annual percentage of inflation has changed from 4.7% in 2000 to 3.3% in 2004.
